I discovered the car in late November 2010, while taking my father-in-law's car to be scraped. Looking around the site for interesting cars I stumbled upon this very strange Mini/Elf.

To be honest, I was not sure what it was exactly, but judging by the quality of the fittings, chrome details and interior, I knew it was special. I took photos and posted them on UK based Mini forums to gather information. Soon after the confirmation of its originality I bought the car and started its restoration immediately.
